Inviting friends over? Planning to order starters but vegan cheese sauce is not available? Even if this happens, there’s absolutely no need to worry. Cheese sauce can be veganised at home and it just takes just 5 minutes to prepare. Plus this blogpost also contains recipes for garlic, onion, and Piri Piri cheese sauce! Keep reading to know more.

Servings: 2

Preparation time: 20 mins

Ingredients

1 large steamed potato

1 steamed carrot (Quantity of the carrot should be half the potato)

2 cups coconut milk/any unsweetened plant-based milk

1/2 teaspoon onion powder/garlic powder/Paprika/Piri Piri masala.

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes

1/3rd teaspoon lemon juice

Note: Add onion powder for onion flavored cheese sauce, garlic powder for garlic flavor, and paprika/peri-peri masala for a spicy flavor. All the other ingredients will stay the same.

Instructions

Blend all the ingredients in a food processor.

Blend till smooth and creamy.

Keep adding water until you attain your prefered consistency.

Adjust seasoning to taste.

This cheese sauce can be served as a dip for your snacks or can be used in Pasta, Lasagna, or as a salad dressing. If you want to use it for Pizza, reduce the amount of the non-dairy milk used to get a thicker consistency. There are so many things to eat as a vegan and not just grass!
