The Food Planet Health Awareness Program helps students learn about the impact of their food choices on the environment, animals, and their health. It gives students more agency for choosing a compassionate, sustainable, healthy diet.
Meat and dairy production produces 60% of agriculture’s greenhouse gas emissions while providing just 18% of calories and 37% of protein. The program helps students to consume environmentally sustainable food by going plant-based.
Worldwide, more than 70 billion land animals are killed for food every year. Animals are bred, impregnated, tortured, and transported to slaughterhouses to meet gruesome ends. The Food Planet Health Awareness Sessions help students learn about speciesism and the brutal atrocities that animals suffer on farms.
Eating plant-based food is good not only for plants and animals but also for our health. People who eat plant-based diets have:
Meat and Dairy production uses 83% of farmland and 33% of total drinkable water. Do you know it requires 660 liters of water to produce 1kg of chicken? The Food Planet Health program helps students choose environmentally sustainable food with a low carbon footprint and food that can save water.

The webinar was really helpful to me. I learned a lot about animals, the environment, and how we, as people, are using them for our benefit while forgetting that it can have a huge negative impact on us. We are playing with lives, using innocent beings for ourselves, and it’s not good for us at all. The webinar enhanced my knowledge on these issues and also opened my eyes to some unknown facts. I would love to join more webinars like this in the future. Thank you so much!
