Vegan creamy cheese sauce

Inviting friends over? Planning to order starters but vegan cheese sauce is not available? Even if this happens, there’s absolutely no need to worry. Cheese sauce can be veganised at home itself and it just takes just 5 minutes to make it. Plus I’ll be giving recipes for garlic, onion, and Piri Piri cheese sauce in this blog post! Please keep reading to know more.

Servings: 2

Preparation time: 20 mins ( 15 mins for steaming the ingredients and 5 mins for actual preparation)

Ingredients:

  1. 1 large steamed potato
  2. 1 steamed carrot (Quantity of the carrot should be half the potato)
  3. 2 cups coconut milk/any unsweetened plant-based milk
  4. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder/garlic powder/Paprika/Piri Piri masala.
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. 1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes
  7. 1/3rd teaspoon lemon juice

Note: Add onion powder for onion flavored cheese sauce, garlic powder for garlic flavor, and paprika/peri-peri masala for a spicy flavor. Rest all ingredients will remain the same.

Procedure:

Put all the ingredients into a mixie. Blend till smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste and add more water for preferred consistency.

This cheese sauce can be served as a dip or can be used in Pasta, Lasagna, or as a salad dressing. If you want to use it for Pizza, you can reduce the amount of non-dairy milk for a thicker texture. Such a quick and easy recipe no? Again, there are so many things to eat as a vegan and not just grass!
